SportsArt Australia
is proud to present Australian sports artist, Mark Sofilas. Mark
has been painting professionally for over 20 years and is today recognised
as one of the best sports artists in Australia.
Mark's main focus is to create unique inspirational paintings
and limited edition prints using Sport as the subject - one of the defining
attributes of the Australian character and a pursuit for which Australians
are internationally recognised and acclaimed.
Sportsart Australia has been awarded a license from
the Australian Cricket Board, Australian Football League, Australian Rugby
Union, Holden Ltd and other licensing bodies to produce fine art limited
edition prints.
Mark's use of oils and acrylics captures and elaborates that moment in
time, which holds the integral elements of sporting endeavour. Creativity
and high quality paintings have kept him in constant demand. These paintings
and limited edition prints have been collected and exhibited by prominent
Australian personalities, organisations and sporting identities. Mark's
work has and will continually appreciate in value.
Mark was born in 1961 in Bunbury, Western Australia. In his youth Mark
was an avid sports person, excelling at Australian Rules Football and
Cricket. In 1979 he began his professional career as a freelance artist
after completing his formal studies in art. Mark now resides and works
from his studio in Sydney.
Mark, together with his close friend and business partner, Lear Rompotis,
share a great passion for all sports. 'I find great personal pleasure
in delighting and inspiring the broad range of people who view my work.
The ability to touch others in such a profound way by combining two of
my life's greatest passions - sport and art - will always be a source
of great personal satisfaction'.
